Family-owned AC repair and tune-ups for the FM 1960, Champions and Willowbrook areas. Licensed Trane dealer, same-day service whenever possible.
Northwest Houston, roughly the FM 1960 corridor from Jones Road over toward I-45, is just south of our home base in Tomball. Its neighborhoods, like Champions Forest, Olde Oaks, Ponderosa Forest, Lakewood Forest and the streets around Willowbrook Mall and Vintage Park, mostly went up in the 1970s and 80s, and a lot of our calls here involve houses that have outlived a few AC systems. Cooling Technicians LLC is family-owned and owner-operated by Adam Naquin, in business since 2012. Call (832) 420-4145 or (832) 302-4608.

What 40- and 50-Year-Old Houses Do to an AC
- Duct work older than the system. Many 1970s and 80s homes still have original or patched duct runs. A brand-new condenser can't make up for ducts that leak into the attic or are too small for the airflow.
- Ceiling and attic surprises. Older attics often have flex duct sagging over joists, crushed runs and connections hanging by old tape. We reseal connections with mastic or UL-181 foil tape and a strap.
- Drain pans and lines. Older air handlers in the attic sometimes have rusted secondary pans. With Houston humidity, a clogged condensate line plus a bad pan means a ceiling stain.
- Mature trees. Big oaks and pines drop leaves and debris into outdoor units.
- Older refrigerant systems. Very old systems may run on refrigerant that's expensive and hard to find now. We'll tell you plainly whether repair still makes sense.
What We Check
- Inspect and check the outdoor condenser coil and indoor evaporator coil
- Check refrigerant pressures
- Test the capacitor and contactor
- Flush the condensate drain line
- Check the air filter
- Check and tighten electrical connections
- Check thermostat operation
You'll hear what we find and your options before any repair. Filters: 1" every 1 to 3 months; 4" to 5" media every 6 to 12 months.
