Emergency & Same-Day AC Repair
We're open Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and emergency service is available after 7:00 PM, 365 days a year. We offer same-day service whenever possible, so call as soon as you notice a problem. Call (832) 420-4145 or (832) 302-4608. Both numbers are answered, including after hours.
For repair visits there's a $94 diagnostic fee to find out what's wrong, and it's waived when you go ahead with the repair. We repair Trane and all major brands, including Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Ruud, American Standard, Daikin, Amana, Bryant and York. We work on central air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits. We don't repair window units or portable room AC units.
Common AC Problems We Fix
- AC not cooling. The system runs but the house keeps getting warmer. Common causes are a failed capacitor, a refrigerant leak, a bad contactor or a dirty coil.
- AC blowing warm air. Check that the thermostat is set to Cool, the filter is clean and both breakers are on. If it still blows warm, turn it off and call us.
- Frozen coil. Ice on the copper lines or indoor coil often starts with a clogged filter choking the airflow. Turn the system off and let it thaw before you call.
- Leaking water. Water around the indoor unit can come from a clogged condensate drain or a coil that froze and is melting. Turn the system off to protect your ceiling and floors.
- Short cycling. An AC that clicks on and off over and over wears out parts and never gets the house comfortable.
- Bad capacitor. The outdoor unit hums but the fan doesn't spin, or the AC is slow to start or shuts off on hot afternoons. Capacitors fail often in Texas heat and hold a dangerous charge, so leave this one to a pro.
Running a struggling system can damage the compressor, the most expensive part to replace. For more quick checks you can try before calling, see our AC repair FAQ.
AC Replacement & New Installation
If your system is 12 to 15 years old or more, still uses R-22 refrigerant, or needs repairs every year, it may be time for a new one. We'll give you an honest answer either way. If a repair makes more sense, we'll tell you.
We install central air conditioning and heat pumps, and we're a Trane dealer. We buy our Trane equipment through Hunton Distribution, the Houston-area Trane distributor, which lets us offer Trane dealer pricing on new systems. We'll explain the SEER2 efficiency ratings on the units you're comparing so you can weigh upfront cost against your summer electric bills. Estimates for new systems and replacements are free. We come out, look at your home, size the system correctly and give you clear options.
Most installs take four to eight hours, depending on the system and setup, and we'll give you a timeline with your estimate. Financing is available through Wisetack, so you can spread the cost of a new AC over monthly payments. You can prequalify online with Wisetack in a few minutes or ask us when we give you your estimate.
AC Tune-Ups
In the Houston area, we recommend a tune-up twice a year: the AC in spring before the heat hits and the heater or furnace in fall. An AC tune-up catches weak capacitors, low refrigerant and dirty coils before they turn into a breakdown on the hottest day of the year. Between visits, check 1" filters every 1 to 3 months and 4" to 5" media filters every 6 to 12 months. Learn more about our HVAC maintenance and tune-ups.
